character and strengths through their experience with the performing

children to grow and discover their inner creative spirit. The Kathryn
Barnett School of Dance is dedicated to the development of a solid sense
of self-esteem through dance education and performance, inspiring young
people to be the best they can be. Studio dancers perform in an Annual
Recital and the award-winning Barnett Traveling Troupe participates in a
wide variety of events throughout the year.
In the 2008-2009 school year, the Kathryn Barnett School of Dance
celebrated 25 years of dance. Kathryn Barnett joined Leah Mauer,
the original owner of the Studio, in the late seventies and purchased the
Studio from her mentor in 1983 seeing enrollment increase to over 250
students today. “Dance has grown and changed by leaps and bounds since
then.” In addition to studio classes, the Kathryn Barnett School
of Dance provides an outreach program including dance and movement classes
at The Red Bank Charter School and First Friends Nursery school.
